Yury Aleynikov is a versatile and fruitful photographer. He was born in Leningrad and lived through all World War II in besieged City. Since 1947 he has taken a great interest in a photo. There are remains glass negatives from those years. Yury Aleynikov has ended the Leningrad Institute of Film Engineers. He was the participant of international photography congress, the press photographer of some newspapers and regular photographer in some firms of Leningrad. He was a member of photo clubs “VDK”, “Friendship” and “Frame”, the participant of many exhibitions. He is a member of The Union of Pictorialists of Russia and The Union of Artists of St.-Petersburg. He had 15 personal exhibitions, three of them – abroad (in USA, England and Holland). There are his selected images presented in “Rachmaninov Dvorik” gallery. Yuri Aleynikov is very erudite, resourceful, he is always in the thick of things. He works quickly, more often out of studio. His report portraits of famous people of art and science are made extensive author’s collection. Aleynikov’s humanity, kindness and humor are especially notable in his genre images of simple people. His life experience and possession of various photo shooting techniques are appeared as necessary preparation for photo series about Georgia, where he made unforgettable documentary testimonies of human grief.
