This and more comes to a witnesses mind of that era with the warmth and cordiality, despite the complexity of the post-Soviet Russian-Georgian relations.
And the photos have become unnecessary after the closure of the Georgian media outlets in the early 90-ies of the last century, saved and carefully stored by Archil Koberidze, brings us back to the beauties of the Georgia nature, its monuments and unique architecture, portraits and genre scenes, causing nostalgia for much of what that was our common history.
Therefore, the purpose of curators of the exhibition “Soviet Georgia. Build-editor selecting” was to strengthen the atmosphere of trust, goodwill and development devoid of any bias sincere and committed dialogue between the two longtime neighbors.
In the collection of A.Koberidze there is 264 photos of 80 authors. The exhibition will feature 80 works by 29 Georgian and Russian photographers. The names of some of them are widely known. It Saakov Alexander, Sergei Preobrazhensky, Edward Pesov, Simon Kiladze, Vadim Gippenreiter. About work of the vast majority of other authors researchers of history of photography have yet to be learn.
