In 2000, after three decades of photographing, Paulsen rethought his attitude to photography and now at the heart of his work lies the desire to transmit «silence, peace, fellowship». It seems that trinity of these postulates became the basis of everything for the author, and his photos are kind of photo meditation for attainment of these archetypes.
Works of Oddvar are minimalistic in Scandinavian way. They are not wordy and even ascetic, it’s a whisper rather than voice, and it allows the photographer, discarding all nonessential and momentary, to draw viewer’s attention on the thoughts and feelings, which are important for him, to invite to have a dialogue in the atmosphere of silence and peace. This in the context of contemporary political events, gives a chance name the photos of Paulsen not only works of photographic art, but also a kind of message of prudence and dialogue in the world full of negative emotions.
The photos of the new Oddvar Paulsen project «Tracks of Lines» are presented on the exhibition at «Rachmaninov garden». It’s the first photo exhibition of the author in Russia.
